Hey guys!

I hope everyone had a Sweet Ass Thanksgiving!

I've been super busy getting together some great new things for all the Sweet Ass cuppies out there!

In the mean time, I came across this video today, and I really felt the need to share it. It's ridiculously cute and funny! First, I'm lovin' "The Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine, and second, this baby is freakin' cute!

Winter's Here!

Hey guys! If you hadn't noticed the crazy temperature drop from Monday to Tuesday, then maybe the snowflake cuppies will let you know winter is definately here in Indy! That being said, I'm not really that excited for the cold weather....more importantly the snow. There are, however, ways to beat the winter blues. Say, with some Sweet Ass Cupcakes!

One of my favorite decorating themes is winter. I love all the fun things to choose from, snowflakes, gingerbread people, Santa, among a whole lot of other things! Not to mention the awesome fall/winter flavors there are to be had. So, for the holiday season, I am adding a few special flavors to the list!

~Pumpkin with Cream Cheese Icing

~Mint Chocolate with Mint Ganache

So, get excited and fill your tummies with some Sweet Ass Cupcakes! :)

Hey Sweet Ass Cuppies!

Hello!

Whew, the last few weeks have been jam packed! Now that I've had a day to get caught up, I just wanted to say hello!

A couple weeks ago was the Irvington Skillshare 'Feast'ival and the Party With A Purpose. They went awesome! Let me tell you, I brought well over 1o0 samples to the Skillshare and they were gone in less than an hour! :) It was great to meet so many people and tell them about Sweet Ass Cupcakes, Indy's Kitchen and all of us new local Indy businesses that rent there! Too bad, I again, forgot to bring my camera to the event. I missed out on some great pictures! (Those of you who know me, know that this is something I often leave behind...)

Then last weekend, I was part of some Spirit and Place tours that came through Indy's Kitchen. I, along with Kris from Avoc Moi, were working in the kitchen on our entries for the Best Bite of King Park that evening. Again, it was awesome to meet so many new people and tell them about Indy's Kitchen and the businesses that run out of it. There were some Sweet Ass samples being enjoyed by everyone! They samples Red Velvet and White Almond cake and Maple Cream Cheese Icing! Delicious, right? Yep. :) The Maple Bacon Icing Shots were another big hit at the Best Bite contest! We didn't get best in show, but it was definitely a close call!

Now on to the next Sweet Ass adventure! All of you should keep an eye out for the Metromix's Sweets edition coming out in the next week or two! There will be a little write up about your FAVORITE Underground Indy Cupcakery! (with some mouth-watering pictures, of course!).

Again, thank you everyone who came out the last couple weekends to support your local businesses! I really enjoyed meeting everyone!

REMEMBER: Get your hands on the Metromix's Holiday Sweets edition and look for Sweet Ass Cupcakes!

My First Big Wedding!

This weekend I had my first big wedding! It went really well!

I did cupcakes, a cake and truffles for her candy bar. By the way, I think candy bars are a really neat way to do favors for your guests. The couple had all kinds of goodies for their guests to choose from, monogrammed candy bars, suckers, M&M's, truffles (mine!) and other delicious treats. I did Red Velvet, White Almond and Kahlua cupcakes, a Chai cake and Chocolate truffles.

Overall, everything went swimmingly! Only mishap was with the cake topper...I know, bad news, right? While bringing the box with the topper in it inside the venue, which by the door was like a wind-tunnel, the box went flying into the railing! Not cool! But, got it all fixed up and on it's home atop the cake. So, all was good!

Now, being that I can almost never remember to bring my camera on deliveries, I again forgot to grab it. But, I did get some pictures before I left of the cupcakes!

So, have a Sweet Ass day and enjoy!

Deliciousness

Hellooooo!

If you didn't know, I am on vacation in Hawaii visiting family. I have been trying to try new foods and treats, ones that I haven't tried before. It's not as easy as it sounds! You would think there are all kinds of local bakeries, dives and diners to try and there are, they are just not that easy to find.

This time, I found a coffee shop/club/deli of sorts in Honolulu called the Fresh Cafe. What caught my attention, as my mom and I were stuck trying to find way throough back roads due to what can only be described as a HUGANTIC traffic jam, was the beautiful mural painted on the front of the building. Then I noticed the cute and plentiful outdoor seating and that there was a sign for espresso, my crack if you will. So, today, before hitting up the Honolulu Zoo, my sister, nephew, mother and I went to try the place out. It was delicious! Great sandwiches, coffee and CUPCAKES! They have a couple, from what I gather, suppliers of cupcakes. Cupcakers, like me, selling their goodies to the hungry public tummy. One local cupcakery, called 'Rise Up Cakes' bakes locally and vegan-ly. Another, (the cupcake I tried, I can't resist chocolate) was 'Frosted.' Let me tell you, it was fantastic! A very moist chocolate cake with a fantastically velvety vanilla buttercream icing. It went perfectly with my hand tamped creamy mocha.

WTF is Mochi???

This would be Mochi Ice Cream. Crazy looking, I know! But it's deliciuos!

I couldn't get the pics I took to upload, so this is a random one I found, just to show you what they look like. I tried one of these little play-doh looking things yesterday, while on vacation here in Hawaii, and it was pretty good! Mochi is a rice dough, and there were all kinds of little desserts they made with it. These have ice cream or gelato in the middle.

My question is, how the hell do they make them!? Just another thing for me to ponder.

A great day of baking!

Spent the afternoon at Indy's Kitchen making A BUNCH of samples! Some red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing and, of course, CAKEBITES!

The kitchen is fantastic and Linda, one of the owners, is super nice. It was a lot of fun and was so great to have such an abundant amount of space!

I'll be headed back next month for some big things, and I can't wait!

The "Burn, Brady Burn" Cake

This was one of my favorite cakes! It's a pretty silly one. I was working on a birthday cake for a friend of mine and all I could really think of was the he is a HUGE Colts fan, and therefore was not a big fan of the Patriots, (and a even lesser fan of Tom Brady). So, this was the idea I came up with - Tom Brady on fire! Extreme, I know, but let me tell you, the day after making this cake, Tom Brady got injured and was out for quite some time as I understood. Voodoo cake? I don't know. Awesome cake? Definitely!
